Your EBT card allows you to purchase approved food items at any SNAP retailer that accepts food stamps across the United States. In most cases these EBT locations have a sign in their store that shows they accept EBT cards. The United States Department of Agriculture provides a program that each store has to go through in order to be able to accept food stamps at their location. These authorized SNAP retailers are required to offer certain foods to be eligible to process EBT cards through their point of sale terminal (debit machine).
